Select Soccer So Far..... August - December's best bits
Its been a great start to the season for the re-branding of Select Soccer and i'm sure 2018 will continue to see us grow and give all the boys and girls a thriving atmosphere to enjoy and develop their football.
Here are some of our highlights so far.....
Summer Tournament Winners
Devon FA football festival was our first tournament of the year and we were pleased to come away winners on the weekend, the boys done amazing and each age group was a credit to Select Soccer
Holiday Courses were a hit again with great numbers attending every time.
Our courses run every Thursday and Friday in the school holidays and are open to members and non members. We have seen our numbers increase and stay high with lots of new players attending and then staying for every other course which is great as it shows they are all enjoying themselves. Our Mini's Group - 4 to 6 year old's
Our mini's group has given boys and girls an introduction to football and group activities that will help them develop as players and socially within groups, improving their confidence at a young age. Its an amazing group and we have already had players progress into the academy, we are looking forward to new faces coming through in January and starting their journey with us.
Girls Academy keeps producing players and their link with Torquay United Ladies
Our Select Soccer girls were guests at Torquay United Ladies FA cup game at Plainmoor and walked out with the team to support them in their victory. The link with the ladies team has been great and really gives our girls a local team and players to look up to, we have also had two of their players join our coaching staff to help support Joe in coaching the girls academy which has been great for our girls. Jana Richards and Sian Chapman have really enjoyed passing on their experiences to the players.
Boys Academy - New Under 6 - Under 8 group
We have started our new younger academy group on a Thursday now and it has been very successful, we have seen the transition of some players from our mini's and also some players who have joined for further development training. Its an exciting group and we hope they stick together as we have an exceptional bunch of players that will do well if they keep enjoying themselves and working hard.
Development group goes from strength to strength :)
Friday's development centre continues to be a hive of fun and football with the boys and girls developing really well and the enjoyment for all the players is there to be seen. Our numbers have been good and we have seen many player move up into the boys and girls academy group. Keep up the good work!
Nike & Select Soccer
New kit for all our players, after giving the choices to our players they chose to go with the Grey Nike kit for the Academy groups and the Green Nike for our Development and Mini's groups. We are excited to get our brand out there and have the players feeling proud to be part of Select Soccer and these Nike kits will have them all looking great.

Our own League!!!!!!! Under 7s - Under 10s
To help with the development of our players we have created our own league to support with the players learning as part of their extended training programme. This league is a development league and is the first of its kind in the County, it will give us plus other centres we invite in, to have structured mini tournaments on a monthly basis, this gives them plenty of game time rather than just a one off game. Its been a huge success so far and we look forward to expanding it in the future.
It's been an amazing first half of the season and i would like to thank the coaches for all their hard work, Warren for looking after all the admin and arranging all the kits, parents for all your support and for the players who we do all this for! It was a good 2017 and i'm sure 2018 will be amazing for everyone who is a part of the Select Soccer family.
